Don't Grow Up!

We like to tease McKenzie and tell her that she needs to stop growing or she is going to be "busted" or "bustecated" as she likes to call it. As we were getting ready for church she asked Evan, "why do you not want me to grow up?" (Mind you, we always thought she knew we were joking since she laughs and laughs when we say it. But she must have known there is some truth in the matter.) Evan replied "Because you are my little girl and I don't want you to grow up." McKenzie said "Um Dad, well don't worry. I will be your little girl forever and ever."

The Brynnzer

They never laugh as hard when you pull out the camera, but it's still cute.

Seattle Trip

We just returned from the North West. We took a trip to Seattle to explore, play, and visit my aunt and uncle. Thank you to Grandma for watching Kenzie and keeping our home in order. We came home to find the laundry all done, the kitchen floor mopped, the paper towels restocked, and dinner in the crock pot! McKenzie did miss me and Evan, but I think she missed her sister most of all. It was evident as the girls reunited on the airport curb. It was too cute.
It was a fun trip! Ironically, we left sunny Seattle to head home to the rainy bay area. We lucked out and had nice weather up there. Thanks to Aunt Susie and Uncle Pete for making us feel so comfortable in your beautiful home.

A break from your regularly scheduled programming

This is a hijack. Please remain calm. As long as nobody tries anything funny, we should be able to hand this blog back to it's original owner within the day. I have an important message to deliver and when I am done, I will quietly retire back to the non-blogging world I came from.

Today is my wife's birthday. It's a special day for an amazing person. You all know this already, but I think it deserves to be broadcast.

McKenzie and Brynn (well if Brynn could talk) will tell you what an amazing Mom she is. She works hard all day everyday to make those girls happy, and they love her for it. Brooke can't walk in the room without Brynn going into smiling convulsions. And McKenzie adores her. There is nothing that makes me smile more than watching Brooke and McKenzie turn the music on loud and dance around the family room. It's hilarious. Especially because McKenzie seems to have inherited her dancing genes from the wrong parent. They adore her, and rightly so. They don't realize the lottery they won getting Brooke as a mom.

Brooke and I have been married for almost 5 years now. I don't want to get too corny here, but I love her more than Sportscenter and beef jerky combined. Seriously. What an amazing girl. She makes me laugh everyday. She is humble and introspective, selfless and thoughtful. I couldn't ask for anything more. She is my everything.

We love you baby, and we hope you have a good day. Thanks for everything you are, and do. You can have your blog back now.

Sometimes I just want to eat my kids up...they are fun to kiss and squeeze.

Pillow Trap

Here is an example of Evan's idea of keeping an eye on Brynn. He built a pillow trap. I walked in to find Brynn alone behind a mound of pillows on our bed. Too bad she is learning to crawl...soon she will be bulldozing through this trap.
