A Big Goal, and A Big Thank You!

I love my family and thank them for being so supportive of my goal to complete 26.2 miles. I will be running the St. George marathon on Saturday. I can't promise a Boston qualifying time but I can promise to be grateful for my family every step of the way!

I love this guy. He has been my number one supporter. I can't wait to kiss him at the finish line!

McKenzie and Brynn have been such good sports about riding in the jogging stroller. They have endured many miles. Thank goodness for treats!

I can't forget to say "Thank You!"to my mom. She has also cheered me on and been there for me and my family. She has spent several Saturdays at our place helping out with the kids. We love her visits and support.

The Tongue

My children get sick of me taking pictures. This is their nice way of rebelling. Flashing the tongue.

Weighing In

We know you have a belly Brynn, but we didn't know you are worried about it!

Born to Run

As torturous as it may sound, I like to see my kid run. Since she could walk she has been asking to get out of the jogging stroller so that she could run next to mom. Notice the attire and the shoes. She means business. If we are going on a run, she knows she will get to run the last 3/4 of a mile with me. Maybe we should have named her Forest.

Redwood Trail Run

I never thought I would admit this out loud, but I do believe Miley Cyrus has it right. I even found myself singing her lyrics in my head as I forced myself up the trails this past Saturday. "Ain't about how fast I get there, ain't about whats waiting on the other side. Its the Climb!"
Yes, I am a sucker for cheese.

I ran a 20kilometer race on Saturday morning, put on by an organization called Pacific Coast Trail Runs. It was a rewarding experience in a beautiful environment. The climbs were brutal but the scenery was worth it. The people were hard core, but somehow I still felt comfortable and confident. I was proud of my accomplishment (even though I wasn't speedy) and was even surprised to see my biggest fans waiting at the finish line. There they were, Evan and the girls cheering for me. My quads still feel like "tenderized meat," (as Sandi would say) but I am still anxious to do another trail race sometime soon!

Sister for Sale

McKenzie asked me yesterday if we had to keep Brynn. "She just gets into all my stuff mom. She bothers me!" I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry. After explaining for a bit that Brynn just wants to be like her big sister, she came right out and asked "Ok, can we go get ice cream now?" Good thing we try so hard as parents to master our teaching moments.

This about sums it up...McKenzie's bothered face and Brynn's cheerful look stating "I can say cheese too!!"

Here is a good one of Kenzie beating Brynn over the head with a stick.

Brynn didn't seem to mind it.
And finally, the kind of treatment Brynn is used to getting...the intense squeezing and kissing.
Oh, I love my girls.
