Our Weekend

Highlights from this weekend:
-Date night. Sushi, Frozen Yogurt, and concert in the park. Does it get any better?
-Long Sat morning run.
-Mom and Dad plus McKenzie date. We took her to see the movie "UP."
-Stake Conference on Sunday. We even made it on time...

...all this was possible because Grandma Liz came to visit! Here are a few snapshots from the weekend.

The Cupcake

This cupcake is sitting out front of Evan's office at Google. This is a small example of how much money this company has to blow. My question is: "why don't you just give more money to your employees instead of buying silly GIGANTIC decorations?" I wish it worked that way! I suppose this is part of what makes working there so great. It creates a very fun environment.
We told McKenzie that the cupcake was there because they knew it was Brynn's birthday. (We ate lunch with Evan at Google on her birthday.) "Cupcake" is actually the name of the latest release/ version of android (inside the company). Android is Google's mobile operating system (the Google phone). Apparently, desserts are just code talk for an upcoming release. It's appropriate then that we used our google phone to take this fun picture!

Time for Kenzie-isms

The stuff that comes out of this kid's mouth...I'll tell you what.

When talking about my sister's up coming wedding she asked "After the wedding, will you stay to watch Heavenly Father put a baby in Cami's tummy?" Fighting back laughter I replied "uhmmmmm, no honey. Nobody watches him put the baby in the tummy." "Why?" she said, like she always does.

We were shopping at Kohls when out of the blue she yelled "Mom! You are sooooo smart." Nearby shoppers smiled when I said "Thank you McKenzie. Who told you that?" "Grandma Liz," she answered.
Of course.

She was tugging on Evan this morning trying to get him out of bed. The girl wakes up so stinkin' early we can't stand it. "COME ON DAD!" I just kept still with my eyes closed. "You can help a little girl get some cereal and turn on the TV. I know you can." "Just a minute," he said. She stood there for a few seconds looking at his closed eyes. "DAD! This is a long minute!!"

McKenzie loves to have "deep" conversations over lunch or dinner. "Mom, can we talk about something?" "Yep- what do you want to talk about?" "Well did you know that the color gray is just light black? And that black is dark gray?"

Never a dull moment with her!
